Nightfall
And welcome to the jam
This game is a prototype made for the Pirate Jam 16 with a theme "You Are The Weapon." Per jam rules, I used no genAI tools for this project. Note that this jam was a solo* effort from a dev with a full-time job, so be gentle lol. (*Solo with help from some free assets credited below and music made by a talented little brother)
Pretty much everything works with mouse clicks on on-screen buttons. You can rotate the camera with arrows/AD, but I'm hoping to make these UI elements before the jam is over... tbd.

How to play
Nobody reads this section for jam games, but in case you made it here, here's a high-level overview of how to play! Careful there are a few spoilers in here if you haven't played through yet.
Day phase
During the day phase, hover your mouse over the meeples with "!" over their head. Click on the icon corresponding with the point on the map (red for blacksmith, yellow for baker, green for librarian), then use the arrows on the right to adjust the number of hours they need to work that day. Once this has been done for all meeples, click the button in the bottom corner. The day will process automagically, you just sit back and hope they make it back home in time!
Night Phase
During the night phase, first select the tradesperson who will be defending your town. Note you will not get the prompt on the first night! When they appear, click on the zombie hand icons to start the autobattles. These will play out automagically as well, you just sit back and hope you're adequately resourced to win that fight!
How to win
Just survive as long as possible! Surely help is on the way...

Music
Music by Dylan
SFX
Sound effects courtesy of Ovani Sound packs purchased through Humble Bundle or the Sonnis GDC royalty-free sound packs and mixed in Audacity.
"Art"
In-game icons were taken from TheNounProject (w/ royalty free license). Because this game wouldn't have come together without them, here are the collections I pulled the icons from:
Body collection for the eyes on the models
RPG icon pack for the main icons
The zombie attack icon
And the camera rotation icon
For 3D art, as per any and all jams, there are probably a few Kenney assets in there (specifically the models of people, which I re-texture-painted in Blender, including some eyes borrowed from the Noun Project)
City design was inspired by my favorite city generator (go check out Watabou's tools they're lovely and free to use!)
Main font is Geologica, used under Open Font License
Textures applied using Nick's Grunge Textures
Houses, trees, streets, etc. were made by me in Blender with textures from Blender or Material Maker
Color palette was RetroBubble from Lospec (colorblind folks love free palettes)
Game coded using the Godot Engine (4.3, license here)
Night sky background is a photo from my mom, she's a good photographer but doesn't have a link lol.

Great job on this solo jam entry! This jam has me really loving autobattlers now and yours is definitely on my list. The music was calm and well done. The dialogue was nice and silly while I felt that the tutorial made everything easy to understand. No major criticisms on my part but it maybe being able to switch fighters during the nights? I do wonder if there can be visual feedback on how the characters are buffing/healing/supporting each other? Otherwise great work!
Hey thanks so much for the kind words! Switching fighters is definitely good feedback. I think in a larger release I'd have had lots of folks to choose from and parties you could swap out, but time constraints and all :D Still, I appreciate you checking it out, glad you enjoyed it!
